Uckfield Festival 2017

We went along to Luxford Field for the Big Day of Uckfield Festival (the first proper big day of the week long festival) to check out all of the stalls and entertainment.  It was basically like a giant village fete with lots of local businesses and charities all in attendance with activities, stalls and games to play as well as a stage area for local dance troops to show us their moves and bands to play music throughout the day.

The kids looked a bit bored on the Teacups after being super excited to go on!

There were things for foodies too; Tesco were handing out bags with healthy eating activity books and Pizza Express were teaching kids to make pizza dough as well as a few food stalls.  We bought some lovely fresh local fruit from Greenway in Herstmonceux and delicious sausages from Cooper's Farm.  The Toulouse sausages were super garlicky, the twins and I loved them!

The Uckfield Festival Big Day is a great day out for the kids with mostly free entertainment and plenty to do.  Highlights for the twins were the Dray Horses from Harvey's Brewery, free face/arm-painting, balloons, hook-a-duck, free ice-cream and the play-park next to the field - all free with the exception of hooking the ducks for which we paid 50p for each of them to the Friends of Uckfield Community Hospital.

I was impressed with Kalyan's ingenuity when the duck kept moving away from his hook.
Daddy helped in the end!

Sadly we missed the children's parade again this year as the twins nap in the afternoon and we also wanted to check out The Hurstwood's Artisan Market & BBQ so we headed off at 1pm.  From what I've seen in photos though, it was amazing with some awesome mascots/floats.  Hopefully we'll finally manage to see it next year!

And just in case any of you love Priya's dress as much as I do, it's £20 and can be purchased from Outside The Box Clothing, my awesome friend's new business.  Keep your eyes peeled for the chance to win one later this week!
