Support Local pop-up in Tunbridge Wells

On Sunday we went along to our first Support Local pop-up event in Tunbridge Wells.  The pop-up was located in the lovely One Warwick Park hotel near The Pantiles.  There were so many lovely independent businesses selling a really good variation of goods.  It was lots of fun shopping with so many local makers and sellers all in one place, we bought quite a few Christmas presents, including a couple of things for us/the house!  I love discovering new local businesses, we like to shop small and find different things to those you can find on the high street.

My favourite item we bought was a really unusual vase from Five Nordic Swans who sell various Nordic goods.  It's perfect for our newly re-decorated guest room, I can't wait to share photos of the room when it's finished!

We also bought a couple of gifts for family and friends and I spotted Paula from wool'n'tonic knitting something olive green.  It was going to be a hat with a furry bobble (she even makes the bobbles herself out of faux fur offcuts).  A furry bobble hat is something I've been after for a while so one in my perfect green was ideal, so I took her number to check if it was finished before we left to go home after lunch.  Luckily it was done just in time (bar the addition of the bobble) so we drove past on our way home so I could run in for it!  She kindly took £1 off the price after I said I'd just sew the bobble on myself as I couldn't wait.

We also bumped into our favourite local macaron maker, The Crow Kitchen who had some new festive flavours including Mulled Wine, yum!  The salted caramel is still my favourite though ;)

There were candle makers, artists and potters, food producers and crafters as well as local businesses selling other products.

Nik took the twins for a quick walk while I took some photos and they came screaming back at me when they returned ready for lunch!

We also checked out the market at The Pantiles where we invested in some gin produced in Kent and some super cute bobbin earrings for me (we often refer to the twins as the bobbins).

We met Ma & Dadaji for lunch at Framptons after Mum and I recommended it.  It was as good as last time!  I had the duck & blue cheese salad with poached pears, they swapped the walnuts for pine nuts for me as I'm allergic to walnuts.  It was amazing, well seasoned, perfectly cooked and so tender with a lovely dressing on the salad leaves too.  I was also lucky enough to taste MIL's truffley Mac & Cheese - yum!

And since it's Christmas and I rarely get to enjoy cocktails anymore, I treated myself to a good old Pornstar Martini.  So delish!

All in all, a very successful day out!
