2018 Family Friendly Festivals in Kent & East Sussex

I need to look forward to sunnier times and happy events we have coming up this year.  This winter has sucked since the new year with illness after illness in our household and it's getting me down.  Big time.  I am running on empty.  Lack of sleep and work stress aren't helping so I need some things to look forward to and as we're attending a few festivals this year, I thought I'd do a little round up of what's on!  If there are any we don't have listed below, please let me know, we're always looking for new adventures to try!  We'll be attending all of these below and I can't wait!

You can read my reviews below of each of the ones we've been to previously and check out how much fun we had and what to expect.  Here's a list in consecutive order with the first one being in just over a week!

Some of these are free events and I also have some tickets to give away for a couple of these so watch out over the next few months - make sure you're following Olive Dragonfly on Facebook and Instagram so you don't miss out!

The Big Cheese Festival - 3rd March 2018 - (Kids go free)
This is it's first year in Brighton, I can't wait to check this out, mmmmm, cheeeeeese!

Elderflower Fields Festival -  25th-28th May 2018
We had a blast at this last year, our first family festival and we loved it, triggering our thirst for more!  We booked our tickets for 2018 just a week after last year's event.

Woodlands Festival - 8th - 10th June
A fairly new festival but we haven't been before so this will be our first year!  Check out my preview post to see more:

Firle Vintage Fair - August 11th & 12th 2018
Technically a fair but with a festival vibe and plenty going on, we loved Firle Vintage Fair last summer.

Brighton Kite Festival - 7th - 8th July 2018 - FREE ENTRY
An amazing free event in Stanmer Park, Kalyan was in heaven and we all had an amazing day out!

Eastbourne Hot Air Balloon Festival - TBC - 20th - 22nd July - FREE ENTRY
The balloons got rained winded(?) off last year but we still had a fab time and it was perfect kite weather.

Uckfield Festival - 6th - 15th July 2018 - FREE ENTRY
Uckfield's very own week long festival starting off with BIG Saturday on Luxford Field, stalls and fun galore!

Kew Science Festival at Wakehurst21 & 22 July 2018 (The Science Festival was included with Wakehurst entry.)
This was an amazing weekend of scientific fun!  There were so many activities to do we went back on the second day for more, the twins had a blast!

Weald on the Field Festival - 4th August 2018 - FREE ENTRY
Gosh, I still haven't blogged about this one but it was fab having a food festival in Uckfield, I loved the Vietnamese stall!  Will update this asap ;)

England's Medieval Festival - 25th - 27th August 2018
Such a fun weekend of Medieval themed games, events, food and drink (mmmm, mead)!  This was our first family camping experience and we can't wait to do it all again!

Into The Trees Festival - 14th - 16th September 2018
Such a great weekend getting back to nature at the gorgeous Pippingford Park, this is Elderflower Fields' sister event and although smaller, it's just as fun!

Priya's gorgeous rainbow stick in the Art Trail at Into the Trees Festival.

So there you have it, quite a busy festival schedule this year!  I love that there are so many family friendly festivals to enjoy and all very local!  Will you be going to any of these or do you know of any we should be adding to our itinerary??
